The lineup for the 2010 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival was announced today on the Festival’s Myspace page. Bonnaroo will be held from June 10 – 13 this year in Manchester, Tennessee. Tokyo Police Club, They Might be Giants, Dave Rawlings Machine, Jay-Z and Weezer were among the bands announced earlier today.
The announcements were left in the hands of the artists this year. Throughout the day, artists have been independently announcing their spots on the lineup through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The Bonnaroo Myspace page has been updating every few minutes since noon, announcing the newest editions.
The Flaming Lips announced that they would perform their cover of Pink Floyd’s classic album “Dark Side of the Moon” live. In a secret concert on New Year’s Eve, the Flaming Lips performed the entire album for the first time. Their cover was released on iTunes in December.
Bonnaroo is notorious for spanning all genres of music. Classic rock stars John Fogerty are paired with alt-rockers the Kings of Leon. Rapper Jay-Z could be performing beside piano rock goddess Regina Spektor. You can see all of your favorite bands June 10 – 13 in Manchester. Tickets are on sale now, and further additions to the lineup will be made throughout the evening.
